November Bike of the Month

Douglas motorcycles may not be as well known as some of the early British bikes but they were one of the important manufacturers in the early development of motorcycles with manufacturing facilities at Kingswood Bristol. Douglas won trophies at the 1923 IOM TT races and were successful in trials events for many years between 1907 and 1957.
As a family run business they developed flat twin engines from the very early years and in the 1950’s they built the Douglas Dragonfly model. Dragonfly production ended in 1957 with very few surviving today from the 1457 produced. We are fortunate to have one of these interesting bikes at the museum and feature it on our presentation platform as the November ” bike of the month”.
