April Bike of the Month – Norman B4 Sport
Where better to start our “Bike of the Month” programme than with a product of our local Ashford based bicycle and motorcycle manufacturer, Norman. Brothers Charles and Fred Norman started making small motorcycles during World war ll and the products included the famous Norman Nippy moped as well as a range of larger bikes for road and competition use. Engines were supplied by Villiers, Sachs and British Anzani with production reaching more than 1000 motorcycles and 3000 mopeds a year by 1959.
The famous 1950s road racer Derek Minter rode a Norman B4 Sports bike and we are delighted to have a rare example of the B4 on display throughout April. Come and see it close up!
