September Bike of the Month

This month sees two firsts, the first time we have featured a flat tank motorcycle and the first time we have featured a bike which is 100 years old!.
It’s not often you get the chance to see an original and complete bike of this vintage and condition.  It was recently loaned to us by enthusiastic collector John Larkham, who bought it some 40+ years ago and it remains as he purchased it with the old oil and grease covering as well as having the original decals in place.
Manufactured by the Osbourne Engineering Company (OEC) at their factory in Gosport Hampshire; they were well known in the early 1900’s for producing the famous Blackburne Engines, which were fitted by a number of other motorcycle manufacturers.
Come along and get a close look at this rare and different mode of transport from 1924 and enjoy a day with us at the museum with a stop over in our cafe for tea or coffee and one of our full English breakfasts.
